Ifc
This building is the Ifc mall. It is the trade mark of Hong Kong. It is one of the tallest buildings in the world. The miniature version of the towering giant on the right is Ifc 1. The taller one is Ifc 2. Ifc stands for
International
Financial
Center.
The first day's I came to HK, the IFC was one of the first buildings I visited. My mom told me it would be like a famous mall in Seoul, Korea. WRONG! It was cleaner, bigger, straighter, and quieter. I was shocked, I thought "Is this actually what a mall looks like?" My mom told me "Lotte is suitable for younger children, this place is more business." Just then, I saw a American family walk by with a young child my age, staring at me as if I were an alien. I stared back angrily. He turned away. I backed away but my mom was gone. I was lost. I went looking as fast as I could for an information stand. I found one. But I found a stand, and spoke Korean. Then I remembered, this was Hong Kong. I said very simply "I lost." Luckily, Hong Kong was populated with Koreans, and it also happened a Korean lady was walking past. She immediatley took action. In english, she said "I speak korean, please let me use the microphone." I told the lady my mother's name. I thanked her and just as she left, my mom came. She said "Where were you?" I told her "I was here, and a lady helped me." I never saw that lady again.
